The Book ✯✯✯✯✯
A one-sitting, late-into-the-night read, The Duke I Tempted ran away with my heart. The love story between Poppy and Archer is incredibly raw and real. And while it, of course, has its angsty moments where you think "just talk to each other!" it was also realistically done. The misconceptions were understandable, not dramatic, and the only reason the reader gets frustrated is that we're given the advantage of knowing both sides.
Sometimes, broken and grieving people find each other and heal in the process.
This actually follows past the wedding, which I really really appreciate in any romance. They have to sort their baggage and it is incredible to watch.
That being said, I think this one should come with a slight warning. Despite the title, I did not expect this one to be a steamy one. It is. But those scenes are well done, not awkward, and not the focal point of the romance.
